Boy Scout Day Camp

This summer was our very first Boy Scout Day Camp! Stephen and his Mommy had a blast! Although Camp Mountaineer is WAY down in a valley and the parking is WAY up on the hill....just to put it into perspective...the walk up has a tortuous short cut aptly named "cardiac hill". I only dared take it on the last day. I can tell you this...it is appropriately named! When I got to the top I thought I was going to die felt great though...

The boys had a blast....there was swimming

Fishing
Sand boxes
and where there are boys and water, there is mud

Dart game, Dunk tanks, resting...

Mining for gold
Water activities....

Making friends...Games...
of course there was a fire...
The boys also learned how to shoot a sling shot, bow, and BB Gun (all of which my son thinks he now needs)...they learned a few camping songs, went shopping in the store, tye dyed shirts, stamped bandanas, made tie snakes...whew what a jam packed week it was!

and flag lowering at the end of camp.
So now my son and his pack are no longer Tiger Cubs, they are now Wolfs!
So here is the whole crew of Wolfs:

Off of Hiatus (at least for a little while)

I realized that I was missing my blog and my blogging friends!

So at least for now, I am going to start blogging again. It may be just once a week or so.

I cannot believe summer is almost over! WOW did it zoom by! My son is hesitant about going back to school, but he really has been missing his friends. He misses going to the Scout meetings too (they do not have these in the summer)! Oh yes...he had an accident right before school was out and broke his arm! He dealt very well with it! I was so proud of him.

We are fortunate to have a great summer program to send him to. They have known him since he was 2 years old (he is now 7 ¾). He went swimming Mondays and Thursdays. When a new kid movie came out they went to see it (and road public transportation, which the kids love). They also did crafts, and held plays for each other.

This summer was our first ever Boy Scout Camp. We were so very lucky to be involved this year. It is the 100th anniversary of Scouting! Wow, was that an exciting week. I will be posting pictures to catch everyone up. The boys (and parents) had a great time…it was very exhausting and HOT.

When I last left off, we were doing the Biggest Loser at work. Well….I WON!!! I kept it off for a while but started to gain the 20 lbs I had lost back. Soooooooo back to Weight Watchers I went! So far I have lost 13.5 lbs in three weeks! I have started to exercise in the mornings. My dogs love this; they get to go walking around the neighborhood and be nibby.

I am in a LAEDership training program through my work until the end of October. It has been an excellent experience. I have learned a LOT about how a great leader should be. Last conference we went over public speaking! I had to do 6 speeches and put together a power point presentation (all of which I had little to no experience in). Well after all of it, I came away with a better grasp on public speaking as well as what to do when I am speaking. I didn't realize there was so much to think about…where to look, what to do with your feet, legs, hands….auugghhhhh.

Any way….it is good to be back and I look forward to catching up!

Good-Bye for a little while

I am closing up the blog for a bit. I have a lot happening right now and have been falling behind on the blog, so I think I am going to sign off on my blog for a little while. I'll see you all soon.

I will still be stopping in on my favorite bloggers to check on their lives. Until next time...

The Biggest Loser week 7 and 8

This week was better than last week. I lost 2 lbs this week. Last week was week 7 and I did not lose anything.
So far the grand total is 25 lbs!
My B/P and heart rate are better. I am no longer taking B/P medication, and I feel so much better.

Thoughts of the day

Good Wishes
By freely sharing your wealth of good wishes, you earn the guarantee of a right to happiness.

Character
Body is visible in a mirror. But character is visible in actions.

Consider The Consequences
Become very, very sweet. Remove even the slightest trace of anger. Whatever you think, whatever you say, consider carefully all the consequences beforehand. By performing actions knowing their consequences, success is definitely experienced.

Pinewood Derby 2010

Stephen's first Pinewood Derby race is over. All of the preperation and preparing the car was fun for all of us. All of the boys had a great time, yelling and screaming for their cars, and for there buddies cars.
The starting line was set...
....it seemed like a long way to the finish line...
...the cars were lined up (it was a double elimination to make it fair). Stephen's car is the blue one on the left (as you look at the pic)
After 1 1/2 hours of racing,
Stephen came in first place in his class!!!!! This is one happy kid accpeting his award.
Soon as we got home the plaque had to go up in the living room.
Since he came in first we move up and race in the next stage on the 27th of February.
My little champ!

An Amazing Husband

This year my husband and I will not be able to be together on Valentines day. My husband will not be home this week-end.
When I came home today my sweet husband already had my present ready for me to open. ( I did not get a picture of it wrapped)
What could it be?....
...so soft and pretty...
PEARLS!!!!!! Honest to goodness real pearls!
My very first pearl necklace...and I love it, but not nearly as much as I love him!

The Biggest Loser...week 5

This Monday was weigh in number 5.
So we have officially been on this journey for 4 whole weeks.
I lost 4 more pounds this week.
So far I have lost a total of 20 pounds!!!!!
I have been wanting The Biggest Loser for our Wii for a long time.
I have to confess...I got it. I used it Saturday and I am still a bit sore today. There seem to be a lot of different options so it isn't the same thing over and over...and I like that.

Snow has arrived...and still coming

Our February snow has arrived! It appears that it may be staying for today as it is still coming down.
We went out last evening when it was raining. When we left the store we had about 2 inches of snow. The roads were a bit slippery! As we pulled out of the store our car slide sideways....BAM...right front fender into the guard rail....Boom....we bounced off and the back end swung around and hit also! Thank God no one was hurt and no other cars were involved. Looks like my car will need a couple new fenders.

I did go out this morning and took a few pictures. I have to say it is very pretty out this morning. So far we still have power, from what I am hearing on the news we are lucky.

Heading out to nib around
Taking a break from all the shoveling
This is looking out my bathroom window
Hoping we don't loose power today
The snow is heavy and weighing down the trees
About 12 inches so far
Waiting patiently for summer
